Elderberry flower cordial or wine are two favourites from this shrub that flowers in the spring and fruits in the summer.The ripe berries grow in clusters and  are harvested in January and contain potassium very high levels of anti oxidents and vitamin C. It is reknowned for its health giving properties. It si a hardy plant tolerating moist to dry soils semi shade to sun .Best to keep plant around 1.5 for ease of harvesting.
