Gooseberries
An older heritage variety with very sweet golden-green fruit that can be eaten straight off the bush. A prolific cropper. Compact growth of 1m. Fruit matures in December. Plant in full sun and in a well drained soil . Delicious and hardy. Gooseberries have been known to require at least 200 hours of cooler winter temperatures to fruit more prolifically, however they have been known to be fooled with ice cubes on top of the soil periodically though the winter periods
