The Walnut is a slow growing medium sized tree for a bigger property or lifestyle block. It has a characteristically rounded head and makes an attractive ornamental tree . Walnuts require regular feeding but have been known to tolerate poorer soils , a full sunny position and most importantly a well drained soil. They are prized for their nuts , this variety have been selected from a Banks Peninsula tree and have larger nuts that are produced in volumes .  The nuts can be eaten raw or pickled in their green cases and are delicious with cheese and crackers!
