Details

Apricot are the perfect ornamental tree, being quite decorative and showy in leaf, blossom and fruit. Generally they prefer neutral to slightly alkaline soil conditions but they will succeed in most well-drained soil conditions. Heavy, wet soil conditions may eventually lead to root rot. It is important to protect the blossoms from late winter and early spring frosts. Apricots need a long winter chilling and a warm, sunny summer for fruit to ripen.
